Chalachitra Academy activities to be popularised more, says Kerala Minister

The Kerala Minister for Culture announced plans to increase the visibility of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy and expedite film-related infrastructure projects. Key initiatives include naming an exhibition hall after Shaji N. Karun and advancing the development of the J.C. Daniel Film City.

The Minister who visited the academy on Saturday said a new exhibition hall on the second floor of the academy building would be named after director and former academy chairman Shaji N. Karun.
The Minister also visited the academy headquarters built in memory of actor Sathyan at the Kinfra Film and Video Park, Kazhakuttam, and the Centre for International Film Research and Archives.
The academy was one of the institutions in the country that was doing well, the Minister said. The academy had a good team that worked continuously. There was no uncertainty about the academy’s everyday activities. These were being taken up in a time-bound manner according to the academy calendar, the Minister said.
