‘Chakrasnanam’ marks culmination of Tirumala Brahmotsavams

The nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara culminated in Tirumala on Wednesday with ‘Chakrasnanam’ drawing thousands of devotees to the holy ‘Pushkarini’ for the auspicious ritual.

In the early hours, the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy, accompanied by His two consorts and Lord Chakrathalwar, were taken in a ceremonial procession to the temple of Lord Bhu Varahaswamy situated on the banks of the ‘Pushkarini’ (temple tank).

Amid the chanting of Vedic hymns, priests performed the ceremonial ‘Thirumanjanam’ for the deities before proceeding to the most sacred moment of the ritual. At the designated muhurtam, the priests immersed the idol of ‘Chakrathalwar’ in the tank waters, marking the traditional conclusion of the Brahmotsavams.
