CESC issues safety guidelines for public Ganeshotsava in Mysuru

The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has issued safety guidelines to organisations installing Ganesha idols at public places, urging them to take necessary precautions during the Gauri-Ganesha festival.

CESC has advised Ganeshotsava organisers not to obtain unauthorised power connections by hooking onto electricity lines. They should approach the concerned CESC sub-division or branch office and obtain a sanctioned power connection.

Organisers should ensure that there are no electrical lines in and around the place where the idol is installed. Pandals and mantaps should not be erected below or close to electricity lines, and adequate safety clearance should be maintained.

Banners and display boards should not be tied to electricity poles or transformers. During the immersion procession, organisers should avoid erecting tall flags and cut-outs that could come into contact with overhead power lines.
