Camp Mystic has been in the news since 2025. The camp was the site of a catastrophic flash flooding along the Guadalupe River in Texas on July 4, 2025 that led to the death of 28 people, including 25 young campers, two teenage counselors and the camp's co-owner and director, Dick Eastland.
