An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) visited several drought-affected villages across Yadgir and Raichur districts on Sunday to assess the extent of crop damage and evaluate the distress faced by the farming community following a prolonged dry spell this kharif season.
The three-member Central team comprised Man Singh, Director, Department of Rice Development, Patna; Partha Paul, Under Secretary, Department of Expenditure, New Delhi; and Rakesh Kumar, Under Secretary, Department of Rural Development, New Delhi. During their field visit, the officials interacted directly with affected farmers to understand the severity of the crisis on the ground.
