Center of Excellence on EV, drone tech launched in Ongole

A new Centre of Excellence for Electric Vehicle and Drone Technologies has been launched in Ongole to provide vocational training to youth and women. The initiative is a collaboration between the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation, the Mining Department, and Centurion University.

A ‘Centre of Excellence on Electric Vehicle and Drone Technologies’ training programme was launched at the Government ITI Skill Development Centre premises in Ongole on Monday (September 7, 2026). It is a joint initiative of the APSSDC, the Mining Department and Centurion University.
The programme aims to provide skill development training in EV and drone technologies to ITI students, diploma candidates, school dropouts, women and unemployed youth, and to create employment opportunities in future-oriented technology sectors.
Prakasam District Collector P. Raja Babu said, “This is a significant initiative designed to equip the district’s youth with skills in future-oriented technological fields and provide them with employment and self-employment opportunities.”
