Census 2027: data collection crosses 75% in Kollam

The Census 2027 data collection process has gained significant momentum in the district, with 75.21% of the work completed, according to Principal Census Officer and District Collector Annie Jula Thomas. The district-wide exercise is being overseen by 12 charge officers, comprising six rural and six urban charges. The urban sector includes four municipalities and two Corporation charges. Field operations are being carried out by 4,157 enumerators and 717 supervisors, who are covering 4,659 House Listing Blocks (HLBs) across the district.

Reviewing the progress during an online evaluation meeting, the Collector directed charge officers and supervisors to meticulously ensure the accuracy of all gathered data. She has instructed that the uploading of collected information onto the official Census portal must be completed by July 25. To expedite the remaining workload and maintain steady progress, charge officers have been asked to conduct online review meetings twice a week.
