Cement to be provided at ₹230 per bag for Indiramma Houses

Cement industries would provide cement bags at ₹230 each for construction of State government’s Indiramma Houses. They took the decision responding to a request by Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. Each bag is sold for around ₹340 in commercial markets. The price varies depending on number of quantity purchased.
Many beneficiaries of the house scheme incurred expenses over ₹5 lakh subsidy provided by the governmen t, with one of the reasons being escalating costs of construction materials.
