Take advantage of the dark autumn evenings to join in a worldwide celebration of the night sky next month.

You don't have to be an expert or an avid astronomy enthusiast, '100 Hours Under One Sky' is an initiative for stargazing beginners in the UK and Ireland which will run from 1-4 October .

You can also discover stargazing events in your region. You don't need binoculars or a telescope to take part, don't need to travel to a dark sky site, and don’t need to give your email or exact location. Just go outside after dark and look up.
