CCB busts racket making ‘rigged’ gambling cards, man held in Bengaluru’s R.T. Nagar

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has busted a racket allegedly involved in installing electronic chips in gambling cards to manipulate games and cheat players, and detained a man from R.T. Nagar.
The accused, Mohamed Ismail Babu, was allegedly manufacturing and modifying gambling cards by installing chips and supplying them to gambling organisers across the State.
According to a complaint filed by Mahadevaiah S., Police Inspector, CCB Special Enquiry Wing, the CCB received credible information that Ismail and his associates were operating from a house in R.T. Nagar police limits.
The CCB team found that the accused had stored equipment used to modify the playing cards. The cards were then allegedly supplied to organisers conducting gambling activities, with the purpose of manipulating the outcome of games and cheating members of the public.
