CBSE 2nd Board results: 3 lakh students improve scores

NEW DELHI: CBSE Saturday declared the results of the Class X Second Board Examination 2026, taking the overall pass percentage — after combining the main and second exam results — to nearly 96.8.In the main board examination, CBSE had recorded an overall Class X pass percentage of 93.7. Nearly 3.1 lakh of the 5.1 lakh students, around 60%, who appeared for the improvement examination recorded higher scores than in the main examination.Meanwhile, of the 1.5 lakh students who appeared in the compartment category in the second exam, 78,503 passed, resulting in a compartment pass percentage of 52.4, up from around 48.7 last year.Under CBSE’s new two-board examination system for Class X, introduced this year under the National Education Policy 2020, the main board examination is compulsory, the second examination is optional.
