CBI conducts searches in 10 States over ₹11.42 crore Gujarat ‘digital arrest’; 2 more arrested

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two more people in connection with the ₹11.42-crore “digital arrest” case in Gujarat. The arrests came following searches at 22 locations across 10 States under Operation Chakra-VI.

The arrested men, Himanshu Prasad and Unis Biswas, are accused of having received, layered and dispersed the proceeds of crime.

The agency on Sunday (September 27, 2026) alleged that the accused used the bank account of a company to receive ₹2.5 crore of the total amount defrauded from the victim. They were also allegedly involved in transferring the funds onwards to multiple accounts of their accomplices with the intent to obscure the money trail.
