CBC/Radio-Canada launches search for first Eurovision act
CBC/Radio-Canada has announced that Canada will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2027. The broadcaster is launching a national search to select an artist to represent the country in Bulgaria.

Canada will participate at the Eurovision Song Contest for the very first time in 2027, as the 71st edition takes place in Burgas, Bulgaria, on 11 | 13 | 15 May.
Broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada opens this new chapter in its history by launching a national search for the artist who will represent Canada at its inaugural outing at the world's largest live music event.
The broadcaster’s approach for year one is to first select the performer. The chosen artist will then collaborate with top music industry talent to create Canada’s first-ever Eurovision song and performance.
CBC/Radio-Canada has invited all interested Canadian artists and their representatives to submit their proposed entries on the broadcaster's registration portal between Monday 31 August and Wednesday 09 September. All eligibility and participation requirements will be available on the portal.
