CB-CID registers case over deepfake video of CM Vijay

The Cyber Crime Cell of Crime Branch- Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) has registered a case in connection with the circulation of an AI generated deep fake video with Hindi audio by impersonating the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Facebook
The agency, in a press release on Wednesday, said the videos has been created and circulated on Facebook and other social media platforms with an intention to cheat people. In the particular video, the general public were asked to contact a WhatsApp number for any financial help.
