Kilkenny goalkeeper Eoin Murphy has announced his retirement from inter-county hurling after a hugely successful 16-year spell between the posts.
The 36-year-old Glenmore clubman won four All-Ireland SHC titles (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015), 10 Leinster crowns (2011, 2014-2016, 2020-2025) and five Allianz Hurling Leagues (2012-2014, 2018, 2021) with the Cats.
He joined the senior panel in 2011 and went on to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the game.
Murphy made his championship debut against Offaly in 2013 and played a central role in Kilkenny's back-to-back All-Ireland successes in 2014 and 2015.
Renowned for his shot-stopping, athleticism and composure, Murphy was recognised with four All-Star awards in 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2023.
However he will not be part of manager Henry Shefflin's plans for 2027.
