The Parappana Agrahara police have registered a case against a woman for allegedly uploading a series of Instagram videos containing unsubstantiated allegations about the administration and security arrangements at Bengaluru Central Prison.
Based on a complaint by B.M. Kotresh, Superintendent of Bengaluru Central Prison, on Friday, a case has been registered under Section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
According to the complaint, the woman, identified as Sandya Nagaraj, allegedly used the Instagram account “Sandya777nagaraj” to upload videos on different dates, making allegations against the functioning of the prison administration.
The complaint states that some of the videos allegedly contained remarks about a prison official and a woman officer, including claims of “love affairs” involving a jail officer and a prisoner, alleged illegal activities inside the prison, and other allegations concerning prison staff.
