The law was considered urgently and will come into effect on August 22. On this day, the traditional Lamprey Festival will take place in Carnikava.
The deputies supported the alternative bill developed by the Saeima Commission on State Administration and Local Government. The initiative was originally proposed by Saeima Speaker Daiga Mierina (SZS), Oleg Burov ("Honor to Serve Riga"), Ingmar Lidaka ("United List"), Harijs Rokpelņš (SZS), Jānis Grasbergs (National Alliance), Ināra Mūrniece (National Alliance), Raimonds Čudars ("New Unity"), and Andrei Celjapiter.
