Cardano's ADA leads gains in narrow range-bound market

Cardano's ADA token outperformed the broader market with a 10% gain, potentially driven by new 'RealFi' initiatives and upcoming network scalability updates. Meanwhile, major assets like Bitcoin and Ether remained range-bound as traders de-risked ahead of token unlocks.
Why it matters
Divergent performance in altcoins suggests that specific project developments and ecosystem updates can decouple assets from broader macroeconomic trends.
The token has gained 10% in the past 24 hours with prices up 4% since midnight UTC hours, trading at over 27 cents, its highest level since May, according to CoinDesk data. Other relatively smaller tokens, such as VVV, ENA, and PEPE, are up 5% in 24 hours. Meanwhile, market leaders bitcoin BTC $86,065.58 and ether ETH $2,715.52 are up just 1% and 0.5%, respectively. Bitcoin, in particular, remains stuck in its recent $84,000 to $87,000 price range.
The exact reason for ADA's outperformance is hard to pin down, but a " RealFi " momentum backdrop might explain the bullish sentiment. The product, announced on Oct. 1, allows users to route stablecoins into institutional credit for up to 9% annual yields.
