The incident occurred at an HP petrol station near the Attibele border with Tamil Nadu. According to police, the driver, identified as Sanjay, was travelling with a young woman when he allegedly lost control of the car and hit petrol pump employee Guddu Kumar before crashing into the petrol dispensing unit.
The vehicle and the pump caught fire, and the flames spread within seconds.
Sanjay and the woman managed to get out of the car before it was engulfed in flames. Guddu Kumar sustained serious injuries to his leg and was shifted to a private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
