Capt. Chowta thanks Ashwini Vaishnaw
Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta has thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for transferring the Mangaluru Railway Region to the Mysuru division. This administrative change aims to improve regional railway coherence and fulfill a long-standing demand from coastal Karnataka.
Why it matters
The administrative shift is a significant infrastructure development that impacts regional connectivity and governance for Karnataka's railway network.
Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday for his proactive direction in bringing Mangaluru Railway Region under the South Western Railway’s Mysuru division.
The MP met Mr. Vaishnaw in New Delhi and extended his gratitude for the August 21 order of the Railway Ministry in excluding Mangaluru region from the Southern Railway’s Palakkad division and integrating it with SWR’s Mysuru division. The move has fulfilled decades’ old demand of people from Karnataka, and particularly coastal Karnataka, he said.
