Cane crushing begins at co-operative sugar mill in Kallakurichi
The co-operative sugar mill in Kacharapalayam near Kallakurichi has officially commenced its cane crushing season. Officials have set a target to process 3.25 lakh tonnes of sugarcane harvested from nearly 12,000 acres.

Cane crushing began at a co-operative sugar mill at Kacharapalayam near Kallakurichi on Monday. It was formally inaugurated by Collector J.E. Padmaja.
According to officials, crushing of about 3.25 lakh tonnes of sugarcane, cultivated on about 11,890 acres, at the co-operative mill during the crushing period was the target.
