Canada to open 2027 World Juniors against Switzerland in Edmonton

EDMONTON — Canada will open the 2027 world junior hockey championship against Switzerland on Dec. 26 at Edmonton’s Rogers Place. Hockey Canada and the International Ice Hockey Federation announced Tuesday the schedule for the tournament, which will be held from Boxing Day to Jan. 5 in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alta. Canada will also face Latvia on Dec. 28, Norway on Dec. 29 and Czechia on Dec. 31 to close out preliminary-round play in Group B.
