NEW DELHI: Can an orphan adopted legally after following all procedures be "returned" years later if the adoptive parents are unable to handle the truant minor or if the child poses a threat to them?The case of one such child, adopted in 2018 by a couple but now proving a handful for the mother, has reached the Delhi high court, which sought the stand of the authorities, reports Abhinav Garg.Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, during a hearing last week, pointed out that there aren't too many precedents, if any, to shed light on law governing return of a minor in such cases and asked Centre, through Central Adoption Resource Authority, to furnish its stand.
