Overnight parking is banned at the spot by Llyn Padarn in Llanberis, which lies in the shadow of Yr Wyddfa's, but the order is frequently ignored. Over the weekend, spaces were in short supply as motorhomes and campervans packed into a barrier-free car park at Y Glyn, an area referred to as the "Lagoons". Eyebrows were raised when one campervan stretched an awning across four bays and, contrary to fire-safety guidance, brought out a barbecue and fire pit.
