Returning Officer for the constituency Arjun Ramakrishnan said candidates and political parties would have to wind up campaigning by 6 p.m. Several special squads have been deployed to ensure political parties and candidates adhere to the closing time for electioneering in the constituency.
Public could use the toll-free number 1950 and eVIGIL mobile app of the Election Commission of India to register against any electoral offence, he said.
The Directorate of School Education, Higher Secondary wing, has issued a circular declaring holiday for all schools in Thattanchavady on Monday and Tuesday. The holiday has been declared for schools in the constituency on Monday to facilitate election-related arrangements and on Tuesday for the conduct of polling.
