Why it matters
This reflects ongoing efforts to modernize and improve public infrastructure and user experience in Indian transport hubs.
A comprehensive review of passenger facilities and the quality of services was undertaken at the Tiruchi International Airport by the Airports Authority (AAI) of India as part of the Yatri Sewa Abhiyan 2026, which concluded on Saturday.
“Passenger feedback, observations, and service initiatives were assessed to identify areas requiring further improvement. The focus remains on sustaining the improvements achieved during the campaign through clearly assigned responsibilities, periodic reviews, and continued coordination with all stakeholders,” said Airport Director G. Gopalakrishnan said.
AAI had taken up the four-week campaign at the Tiruchi Airport from September 17 as part of a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening passenger facilitation and enhancing the overall travel experience at airports across the country. The campaign focused on improving passenger services, cleanliness, accessibility, safety, sustainability, and responsive assistance, while fostering a culture of courtesy, and empathy among airport personnel.
