Call to create adequate jobs in Rajasthan, as youth eager to work
A new report highlights a growing youth unemployment crisis in Rajasthan, where unemployment among graduates has reached 33%. The study calls for urgent policy interventions to transition young workers from unpaid family labor in agriculture to formal, salaried employment.

The findings point to a structural economic challenge in India's labor market, specifically regarding the quality of jobs available to the educated youth.
The youth in Rajasthan, who want to work, are not finding enough employment opportunities. The share of those between 15 and 29 years of age working or looking for work has risen sharply, from 38% in 2017-18 to 51% in 2025, says a report on the state of young workers in Rajasthan.
Unemployment among graduates and above in Rajasthan stands at 33%. Most of the extra work is created in the agriculture sector, in which the young workers’ share increased from 39.3% to 47.0% during the last seven years, while it fell in almost all other States.
