Cabinet reshuffle, discipline, freedom for Revanth can get Congress a second term: Gutha Sukhender Reddy
Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy has advised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to reshuffle his cabinet and enforce stricter party discipline to secure a second term. He also called for the removal of land-related restrictions and better promotion of government welfare schemes.
Why it matters
The advice reflects internal political maneuvering and strategic concerns within the ruling Congress party in Telangana.
Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy suggested a reshuffle of the State Cabinet to bring in newness, and urged the party leaders not to create obstacles for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, and he should be allowed to function freely.
In an informal interaction in the Legislative Council, Mr. Reddy felt a Cabinet reshuffle will bring newness. “The Chief Minister is young and dynamic and the party leaders should sail with him without creating unnecessary obstacles,” he said.
Mr. Reddy also made a strong pitch for greater discipline within the ruling Congress. He cautioned that failure to act against leaders who cross the party line could prove detrimental to the Congress. “If these issues were addressed, the Congress government could return to power.”
