The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday in the Madurantakam (Chengalpattu district) and Dharapuram (Tiruppur district) Assembly constituencies on October 6 (Tuesday), the day of polling for byelections in Tamil Nadu .
An order issued by Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar said employees working in Chengalpattu, Tiruppur and neighbouring districts, but registered as voters in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram constituencies, should also be given a paid holiday.
