Collingwood has taken a step in its pursuit of young Hawthorn forward Calsher Dear.
SEN’s Tom Morris reports the Magpies have met with the out-of-favour goalkicker, who remains unsigned beyond this year as he weighs his future.
Dear, who kicked 3.2 from 15 disposals and eight marks in Box Hill’s VFL preliminary final win, has appeared only five times at senior level this year.
But such is his long-term potential, several Victorian clubs are salivating at the prospect of luring him this offseason.
