This highlights the intersection of religious community engagement and government-led economic development strategies in East Africa.
Busoga has concluded its fourth Prayer Week in Mayuge District headquarters with a renewed call for unity, commercial agriculture and action to accelerate development across the sub-region.
The week-long interfaith programme, held under the theme “Let’s Raise Up and Build”, brought together different religious denominations, including Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox Christians, Muslims, Born Again Christians and Seventh-day Adventists from Busoga and neighbouring areas.
The Prayer Week came as Busoga reflected on five years of implementing the Busoga Development Agenda (BDA), a framework designed to coordinate development priorities across the sub-region. The programme was organised by the Busoga Consortium for Development (BCD), in partnership with the Interreligious Council (Busoga Chapter), Busoga Kingdom and other stakeholders.
