Bunyoro Chief Prince Moves to Dismiss Prime Minister Byakutaga

Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Chief Prince Fred Mugenyi Ruchunya has declared that time is up for Prime Minister Andrew Byakutaga and members of the Royal Commission, announcing that the kingdom has already begun replacing leaders whose contracts expired in June 2024.
Speaking to reporters in Hoima on Monday, Ruchunya demanded that Byakutaga and the Royal Commission apologise to kingdom subjects for clinging to office long after their tenure lapsed, and confirmed that a clean-up of the kingdom's leadership structure is under way to replace them.
"They should apologise to the kingdom for staying in office for this long yet their contracts expired in June 2024," Ruchunya said, insisting that both the Premier and the commissioners have no legal basis to continue holding their positions.
