Bumpy Johnson's family has largely faded from public view — and, in many ways, from life itself. The Harlem crime boss, whose full name was Ellsworth Raymond "Bumpy" Johnson, was married to Mayme Hatcher Johnson from 1948 until his death in 1968. His two daughters, Ruthie and Elease, both passed away in 2006, and his granddaughter Margaret Johnson, who had earned her own Harlem legend, died in 2016 aged 66. Only one known descendant — his great-grandson Anthony Hatcher Johnson — survives.
