A political slugfest has erupted in Rajasthan ahead of the Panchayati Raj elections. The Congress has once again accused the government of misusing the administrative machinery to harass and block opposition candidates and stop them from contesting. In a social media post, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra alleged that administrative officials were being asked to prepare a list of potential opposition candidates. The idea is to send bulldozers to their houses, dig out some dues to get their nomination forms rejected, and if none of this worked, they could be picked up by the police, as he alleged had happened with councillors during the municipal elections.He even attached a copy of the purported order."The dictatorship carried out by the police and administration during the municipal elections has been recorded in the history of the country.
