Bulk waste generators must register within 15 days: Tiruchi Corporation
The Tiruchi Corporation has mandated that all bulk waste generators must register with the Central Pollution Control Board within 15 days. Establishments meeting specific size, water consumption, or waste generation thresholds are required to comply or face potential legal action.

Tiruchi Corporation has directed all Bulk Waste Generators (BWGs) in the city to complete their mandatory registration with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) within 15 days, in accordance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Corporation, establishments with a built-up area of 20,000 square metres or more, those consuming 40,000 litres or more of water per day, or those generating 100 kg or more of solid waste per day will be classified as BWGs.
The regulation covers a wide range of establishments, including commercial institutions, residential welfare associations, hotels, hostels, hospitals, educational institutions, IT parks and marriage halls.
The Corporation has made registration through the official CPCB online portal mandatory for all eligible BWGs. Establishments failing to register within the stipulated 15-day period may face legal action, enforcement measures and penalties under the applicable rules.
