Build your life instead of falling prey to vices, police inspector tells students

A police inspector in Moodbidri addressed students at an anti-drug awareness program, urging them to prioritize education and moral values over substance abuse. The event emphasized the role of youth in building a drug-free society and encouraged reporting suspicious activities.
Why it matters
Community-led awareness programs are a key strategy in addressing the growing concern of drug networks targeting students in educational institutions.
Moodbidri Inspector of Police B. Rajendra said students must focus on shaping their future instead of succumbing to vices. “Build your life on strong values, not addiction,” he said
Mr. Rajendra was speaking after inaugurating an anti-drug awareness programme organised at Excellent PU College, Moodbidri, on Wednesday. The initiative aimed to educate the student community about the grave dangers of substance abuse and steer them towards a healthy, value-based lifestyle.
Warning students about the far-reaching adverse effects of drug abuse, Mr. Rajendra said that substance abuse is a social menace that destroys not only an individual’s personal growth but also shatters family peace and social harmony.
“What begins as momentary curiosity or pressure from bad company can quickly spiral into addiction, completely altering the course of your life,” he cautioned.
