A teacher at Karembe Primary School in Buhweju District has confessed to selling counterfeit Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) examination papers through a restricted WhatsApp group, saying he had collected Shs300,000 from unsuspecting buyers.

The teacher, identified as Asaph Abenawe, admitted trading in fake 2025 examination papers, targeting candidates and parents seeking access to what they believed were genuine examination materials.

Abenawe, who administered the WhatsApp group, reportedly removed members who questioned his operations or failed to comply with his demands.

“I started trading these fake UNEB exams and I teach at Karembe Primary School,” he said, adding: “I have so far collected Shs300,000 from people who were sending money so that I could give them the exams. I don't force people to pay for them.”
