A researcher at the Department of Botany, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, working on cancer cure with nature products has been awarded a prestigious travel grant to present his findings at the KSMO (Korean Society of Medical Oncology) International Conference, 2026.
Francis Jegan Raj, a researcher at the department’s Bioprospecting Laboratory, has been focusing on identification, characterisation, and evaluation of bioactive compounds from natural plant sources with potential therapeutic applications.
“The researcher’s work explores the rich phytochemical diversity of plants and their potential to provide promising leads for the development of novel therapeutic agents,” said his guide T. Parimelazhagan, Professor, Department of Botany.
The international conference provides an important platform for researchers, clinicians, and oncology experts to exchange scientific knowledge, discuss emerging therapeutic strategies, and foster collaborations in cancer research.
