BRS urges CM to withdraw decision to attach polytechnic colleges to Skill Varsity

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party has urged the Telangana government to reverse its decision to integrate polytechnic colleges into a new Skill University. Critics argue the move threatens the autonomy of technical education and risks privatization of public institutions.
Why it matters
Educational reform policies often face pushback when they are perceived to threaten established institutional standards and student interests.
Senior leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former MP B. Vinod Kumar requested Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to review the issue arising out of the government decision to bring the polytechnic colleges under the Skill University through GO 97.
Speaking to newspersons here on Monday, he said the students of polytechnic colleges were protesting for the last 10 days demanding withdrawal/scrapping of GO 97 issued on August 16 with the objective to bring the technical education diploma colleges under the purview of Skill University.
