Browns Make Shedeur Sanders Decision After Dillon Gabriel’s Breakout - Yahoo Sports

Cleveland Browns coach Todd Monken confirmed that Shedeur Sanders remains the team's backup quarterback despite a strong preseason performance by Dillon Gabriel. The team faces a difficult roster decision regarding their four-quarterback depth chart.
Why it matters
Roster management decisions in the NFL have significant implications for team strategy and the development of young players.
Dillon Gabriel made a strong final push for a larger role with the Cleveland Browns, but it is not expected to affect Shedeur Sanders.
Gabriel put on a show in his first extended action of the preseason, completing 12 of 15 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns in the first half of Cleveland’s 37-13 win over the New England Patriots.
He finished with a 157.9 passer rating. Gabriel directed five scoring drives, throwing two touchdowns to Luke Floriea before connecting with Ahmani Marshall for another score.
It was by far the most impressive preseason performance from a Browns quarterback, even if it came against New England’s backups.
