'Britain's loneliest dog' finds home after three years in kennels

A five-year-old collie cross named Sadie has been adopted after spending nearly three years in RSPCA kennels. The dog, previously rescued from poor conditions, found a new home after staff shared her story on social media.

Collie cross Sadie was rescued by the RSPCA after being found living in unsuitable conditions in outdoor compounds in Cornwall, the charity said.
The five-year-old dog could not be rehomed immediately due to legal processes. But once cleared for adoption she was still in RSPCA kennels after 1,000 days with staff describing her as "Britain's loneliest dog".
In a bid to find her forever home, they posted a video a day of Sadie on social media. On day 83, Mabel Edge from Westward Ho! in Devon stumbled across one of the clips before decided she would adopt her.
