Brisbane man dies at home after waiting two hours for ambulance as Queensland Ambulance Service faces mounting pressure

A man has died in his home after waiting two hours for paramedics to arrive. A 53-year-old Brisbane man called triple-0 from his Annerley home just after 10pm on Saturday, reporting chest pain. An operator called back approximately five minutes later to check on his condition, with the man reportedly saying there was no change. It wasn’t until around two hours later that an ambulance arrived at the man’s home, just a few kilometres from Princess Alexandra Hospital, where paramedics found him deceased. “The death of a patient is a tragedy and we extend our condolences to their family and loved ones,” Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said.
