The defending champions have been tipped by many to retain the title they won last season for the first time in 22 years.

An impressive seven-match winning start to this campaign in all competitions - nine in successive league games dating back to April - backed up that belief.

But Arsenal were humbled on the south coast as a well-drilled and clinical Brighton outfit beat them comfortably 3-0 to go third in the table.
