Brentford secured a historic home victory against Chelsea in a Premier League west London derby. The match saw Brentford dominate the second half, with goals from Anthony, Igor Thiago, and Carvalho sealing the win.
Why it matters
This result marks a significant milestone for Brentford in their Premier League history and highlights ongoing defensive struggles for Chelsea.
That's all from us this evening. Thanks for tuning in!
Chelsea captain Levi Colwill is talking to Sky Sports about their poor set piece record:
"Obviously we haven't been good enough. Maybe at times we've been bullied in the box. We need to definitely improve at that but we'll trust in our set piece coach. We're still adjusting to new things but we definitely need to improve as a team."
It's unlikely but would be relegation form if it happened. Still won't beat the 104 shipped by Sheffield United in 2023/24, though!
The chants are ringing out loud and proud at the Gtech with Keith Andrews joining his players in the celebrations. What a job he has done since taking the reins.
The hosts get their first home west London derby win over their neighbours in the Premier League and were more than deserving of it in that second half.
