The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) here will host its 27th convocation on campus on Wednesday.

A total of 36,145 students will be awarded degrees, postgraduate degrees, diplomas and certificates in various programmes. Additionally, 23 research scholars will receive Ph.D. degrees and one will be awarded an M.Phil. degree, while 38 gold medals will be presented for academic merit.

The university has also decided to confer an honorary doctorate on filmmaker, writer and actor B. Narsing Rao in recognition of his contribution to cinema and society. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will attend the event.

As part of the university’s educational opportunities, 27 prisoners, including a woman, will receive their degrees. The inmates are from prison facilities in Cherlapally, Rajahmundry, and Kadapa.
