Brandon Aiyuk: I’m back to 100 percent and looking to get reinstated - NBC Sports
NFL wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is seeking reinstatement to the league after recovering from a knee injury. He met with the San Francisco 49ers to discuss his future, though the team has indicated their professional relationship is effectively over.
Why it matters
The situation highlights the complexities of player-team contract disputes and the physical recovery process for professional athletes.
Brandon Aiyuk will not play for the 49ers again, but his future is in question.
The wide receiver arrived at the team’s business offices in a van with his agent Friday afternoon to meet with the 49ers and presumably negotiate a resolution.
“Obviously, Brandon is here to meet with the team,” Drew Rosenhaus, Aiyuk’s agent, said before the meeting, via video from David Lombardi of the San Francisco Standard. “Fortunately, he’s feeling good physically. He’s healthy . He’s ready to get back to work. Don’t really have any comment about where he’s going to play. We’ll keep that between us and the Niners. But obviously we’re here with all the right intentions.”
