Bradford gains ground on Chow

A new poll shows the Toronto mayoral race tightening, with Brad Bradford narrowing Olivia Chow's lead to 3.5 percentage points. The shift follows the withdrawal of candidate Chris Alexander from the race.
Why it matters
The narrowing gap suggests a highly competitive election with a significant portion of the electorate still undecided.
A tighter contest appears to be emerging in Toronto’s mayoral race as Brad Bradford reduces Olivia Chow’s lead to about 3.5 points among decided voters, according to a new poll conducted exclusively for CP24 and CTV News Toronto.
Nanos Polling, which surveyed 757 Toronto residents between Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, found that 51 per cent of decided voters said they would cast a ballot for Chow if an election were held today, compared to 47 per cent, who said they would vote for Bradford.
Among decided and undecided voters, 43 per cent said they would support Chow, 39 per cent backed Bradford, one per cent said they would vote for another candidate, and 17 per cent said they remain undecided.
In a Nanos poll published last week , Chow was up nearly 10 points over Bradford among decided voters.
