BPS, education ministry partner on police vehicle repair

The Botswana Police Service has partnered with the Ministry of Education to utilize TVET workshop facilities for police vehicle maintenance. This initiative aims to reduce repair backlogs while providing students with practical vocational experience.

The agreement will see the police service use Technical and Vocational Education and Training’s (TVET) workshop facilities for the maintenance and servicing of law enforcement vehicles.It will also help address the backlog of police vehicles awaiting repairs while making better use of government infrastructure and providing TVET students with practical workplace experience. Minister for State President, Defence and Security, Moeti Mohwasa, explained the partnership was more than about simply fixing police vehicles, describing it as an example of government institutions working together to maximise existing resources and improve service delivery. He added the MoA comes at a time when the government is implementing National Development Plan 12 (NDP 12) amid a challenging economic environment, making fiscal prudence and efficient use of public resources increasingly important. “As government, we are entrusted with resources that belong to the people.
