The police identified the victim as K. Somnath. He was the son of S. Kumar, 37, and K. Satya, 33. The boy was playing at his home with his brother when he accidentally swallowed the balloon. The child was rushed to the Government Taluk Hospital in Natramapalli town. The duty doctor examined the boy and declared him dead. A case was registered. A probe is under way.
