Emergency services were called to Macrossan Street at Childers, 400 kilometres north of Brisbane, about 6pm on Wednesday after a single-vehicle crash involving an e-scooter.
The 13-year-old sustained serious head injuries and was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Speaking on Thursday, Bundaberg Highway Patrol officer in charge Gordon Hard said the events leading up to the crash were not clear.
"To the best of my knowledge he was wearing a helmet," Sergeant Hard said.
"Paramedics performed CPR before that child was flown to Brisbane."
It is the second fatal e-scooter incident in the region.
